To All ABPLA Board Certified Diplomates
As you are aware, the ABPLA's annual meeting in Atlanta is
scheduled June 10-11-12, 2010 in Atlanta. A brochure with
details of the seminar and social options is available at
http://abpla.org/2010_ABPLA_Flyer_-_Color[1].pdf
, and it is genuinely hoped that you join professional peers at
this meeting. As you will see, examinations in medical and
legal professional liability are scheduled on Friday morning,
June 11. Should a professional peer you believe qualifies
want to apply now, there is still time to fast-forward the
Review process in time for he or she to sit for the June 11
exam. The complete application - medical and/or legal -
can be downloaded from
http://www.abpla.org/index.php?d=become
At least half of all current Diplomates have become ABPLA Board
Certified in the recent four years, and this past year a
significant number of you were recertified. We are happy to
report that interest and commitment to Board Certification
continues to grow, and that the streamlined recertification
process was smooth and successful. If you are reading this
communication, you can expect a redesigned diploma conferring
Diplomate status soon.
Also in recent years, you are aware of investment in web site
build and design aimed at informing the public and the
profession of the meaning and value of Certification.
To further enhance these efforts, we now offer an ABPLA
logo medallion for your web site and linking instructions at
http://www.abpla.org/LogoLink.html.
Adding this logo and link to your own web site will not
only distinguish you as a Board Certified Professional Liability
Attorney, it will also aid in gaining exposure for the ABPLA web
site and the Board Certification opportunity.
Be sure to show your web master the above link and ask
them to embed it on your web site.
The ABPLA's standing and relationship with the American Bar
Association is based on shared vision, and the ABA Standing
Committee on Specialization has been helpful as the
ABPLA maneuvers the twists and turns of varying state-by-state
rules. In the immediate future, ABPLA's growth in Board
Certifications will be driven by a strategic plan which focuses
first on those states where Board Certification is valued and
secondly where ABPLA's limited resources meet highest return.
It is quite likely that you will be asked to assist ABPLA
efforts in your state.
Current President Tommy Malone has served the ABPLA for four
years at great personal costs and even more conviction. He and
other Board members and you believe in the value and importance
of Specialization. The public and the profession must first
understand what certification means and then have a way to reach
those who have met the rigorous standards of Board
Certification. Guided by Tommy Malone and a dedicated
Board of Governors, this has been the work of the recent four
years.
Congratulations on your commitment. If you would like to

Most respectfully,
Gail Campbell
