Mr. Weathington was born in Carrollton, Georgia on November 13, 1959. He graduated from Central of Carrollton High School in 1977. He attended The University of West Georgia on a full debating scholarship.
,At West Georgia, Mr. Weathington won many individual and team honors on the debating team including being named top speaker at over 30 debating tournaments across the country. He was named the nation¿s number 2 debater at the National Debate Tournament in 1981. Mr. Weathington was two-time Commander (president) of Sigma Nu fraternity and was named Sigma Nu National Man of the Year in 1981.
,Mr. Weathington attended the University of Georgia School of Law where he finished cum laude in 1984. He was a member of the Editorial Board of the Georgia Law Review. Upon graduation, he took an associate position with Troutman, Sander, Lockerman and Ashmore (Troutman, Sanders). Thereafter, he took an associate position at Schreeder, Wheeler & Flint. In 1987 he returned to his hometown of Carrollton, Georgia to practice at the firm of Tisinger, Tisinger, Vance & Greer where he was made partner in December of 1991. In August of 1992, Mr. Weathington joined an Atlanta firm with a specialty emphasis in medical malpractice defense, which eventually became known as Allen & Weathington. He practiced there until March of 2005 when he formed The Weathington Firm, P.C.
,Over the past 15 years, Mr. Weathington has specialized in trial practice, principally defending physicians and hospitals in medical malpractice cases, but also litigating corporate and commercial matters. He has successfully tried over 50 jury trials as lead counsel. He has been counsel to the American Junior Golf Association since approximately 1990.
,Mr. Weathington is married to Molly Weathington (f/k/a Molly Lee). They have two children, Paul, Jr. and Katherine. They attend the Peachtree Road United Methodist Church where Mr. Weathington is a member of the Administrative Board.
,Mr. Weathington has five children from a prior marriage, to-wit Ryan, Austin, Carter, Shannon and Michael.
